Glitter Paint. I saw it at Home Depot two weeks ago. I drooled. I vowed to have it. When I decided on my projects, I went back. Ack! The colors that I wanted didn't come in Glitter Paint. The colors that I wanted came in Metallic Paint. Well, better than nothing. I thought I'd give it a try.
It comes in a small jar. It cost me about $8.00.
I thought I'd tackle the small project first. Mirrors from my bathroom. They are distressed and I love them, but with all of my accessories going to black, the cream just doesn't fit in anymore. So, I taped and prepped - about ten minutes.
Oh, my, this looks good enough to eat. Once I got the brush in, I made a realization - I can work with anything that looks and feels like pudding. The directions say it is "spreadable". That it is.
It took a little work getting it into all the nooks and crannies, but it sparkles! It's a Sparklie!
Took me all of 15 minutes to paint both of them. I could have spent another ten minutes poking all the little grooves, making it perfect, but I was just thrilled with the quickie job.
I came inside and washed out the brush, then went back outside to check on the dryness factor. Two things - dry, and double dry. It couldn't have been more than ten minutes. I brought them in and made Mr. Queasy Stomach smell them. He said there wasn't a smell (something I noticed when I was spreading on the sparklies). No smell! I could have painted them inside sitting down instead of crouching in the driveway ensuring my status as hip replacement candidate in the next few years.
I hung them up immediately. There you have it. In less than 45 minutes I was done.
Tomorrow I'll be tackling the chicken.
Get ready, Mr. Chicken, tomorrow you get a new coat of paint - and it's a Sparklie!
oooh, Love it! can't wait to see the chicken!
