I'm Topless

It's Christmas in Texas.  That means everyone is dusting off their realistic fake trees and getting the holiday started.
When we moved to Texas over ten years ago, we set out to find a Christmas Tree Lot.  Zip.  Nothing.  We went several cities over and finally found one.  The trees were astronomically expensive.  We were stuck and bought one.  After everyone telling us we had made a mistake, we set out to prove them wrong - Real is better than FAKE!
After about three days, the tree dried up - completely.  The needles started falling off and the mess was unimaginable.  I was seriously afraid were were going to go up in flames from the heat of the lights on the dry branches.  By the time Christmas rolled in, we owned the ugliest tree in Texas.  We went fake.
Here he is all lit up - but - our topper is unable to top this year.
I have searched high and low and cannot find a topper that will cut it.  I decided to make one.  I found this.  I think I will make it in red.  I will have to hurry as I have already been questioned as to why our tree isn't finished.  Topless isn't in.

  1. That is a very cute felt star topper! It will make a nice addition to your tree!

  2. I have been wanting to find an old vintage topper... the kind my grandma had. I don't even know how to explain it, it's like an old glass ornament, decorative in shape not bling and pointed at the top. I could draw you one. ;) Anyway, I haven't found the one I like YET. Good luck with your topper.
