Birthday Day

Today, I was feeling festive.

I learned how to use the self-timer on my camera.

I am a big girl now.  And big girls have to make the birthday meal.

Here is the menu that the birthday boy requested:

Fried Chicken

Hash Brown Potatoes

Lemonade

Snowflake Cake

Snowflake Cake is a new adventure:

 Only the best ingredients for the birthday boy.  This goes beyond vanilla extract - waaaay beyond.

 Since the cake itself is chocolate, and naughty chocolate crumbs ruin the look of the cake,

 Two layers of frosting is required.  Yum.

 Doing the snowflakes right is a test of character.  Curse words may be heard.

But the final product is worth it.

And the birthday boy was thrilled.
