Thankful for . . . Thanksgiving Week

On Monday we made our Thankful Tree.
We had one full branch dedicated to dirt bikes.
Martin said it made him feel good to be next to God and hot chocolate.

Mom flew in on Tuesday afternoon.
Mom and I had a little retail therapy on Wednesday while the boys stayed home and took care of some chores.  Did some last minute grocery shopping and prep for the big meal.
Hayden felt he should wear his arctic hat even though it was a gorgeous 80 degrees outside.
We had a wonderful meal on Thanksgiving.  We did our turkey different this year.  We dry brined it, and it was the best one yet.
Nothing fancy on the sides - potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, glazed apples, oatmeal rolls and Martinelli's.
We went non-traditional with the dessert: Lemon Pie with Pecan Crust, Pecan Pie, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and Lava Cakes.  My friend Marlena gifted us a Pumpkin Roll, so we are all walking a little heavier today.
Friday, Mom and I stayed home and drug out all the Christmas Crap while the boys went to Meunster to dirt bike.  We did take one excursion to Hobby Lobby.  For being Black Friday it wasn't too bad.

I took Mom to the airport this afternoon after a quick trip to the Christmas Tree Shops.  Love that place.  Anyhoo, Mom got out just ahead of the big storm.  Thanks for coming, Mom!

Hope you all's Thanksgiving week was as great as ours.

  1. Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving. It sounds like you had a great time with Mom. And yes you can sleep over for your birthday!
