The Tunnel

 For the past six years, the boys have ridden their bikes to school.

 Since our move, however, Henry is riding the bus and Hayden is much farther away from school than the 2-1/2 blocks he used to travel.  In fact, most of his journey is uphill and quite a distance away.

 The main street he has to cross has no crossing guard.  So we started asking other people how they got their kids to school.  "The Tunnel," they said.

 It took some investigation, but we found the tunnel.  I bet it's been there 20 years.  I still have to drive Hayden to the opening, but now I don't have to worry about his safety.

 I walked the tunnel myself to pick him up the first day of school.
