Everyday Thankfulness

We were invited to a friend's home for Thanksgiving this year, so there was not so much craziness on the Thankful Day.  However, a change in the tradition did not change the fact that I am thankful.  I am thankful for winning the "Guess the Mystery Apple" game at our recent Relief Society activity, "All About Apples".  I was awarded this beautiful pie plate, which incredibly held my pecan pie that I contributed to Thanksgiving dinner.  It's the first time the filling didn't spill over the sides.

 I'm especially thankful for my family.  Not just because it's time to say I'm thankful, but because I love everything that happens every day.  I've realized recently that my purpose wouldn't be very purposeful without these three people that bless my life.  They are the reason for this season in my life.  Love this new necklace that that represents each of them.

 I'm thankful that someone cares about my well being.  Martin's company sends out periodic messages and programs for us to participate in.  This one, for the holidays, is to encourage us to maintain and not gain weight during the holidays.  It's an effort to keep insurance costs down, which I fully support.

 However, after we made these Cinnabon Copycat cinnamon rolls, my will power came to an end and my thankfulness turned toward being able enjoy all holiday sweetness.

I am thankful for life. Period.  Our little girls have just started laying.  I love that their little eggs are so precious. It's fun to watch them grow and watch the boys grow as they take care of them.  Warms my heart.

The boys are out enjoying their dirt bikes today and I am home resting.  I'm thankful for a warm bath, a good book and fabric.  Above all, I'm thankful for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, my testimony and the great responsibility I have to share the great message of the gospel with others.  I believe that's why we have Thanksgiving - to prepare our hearts for the beautiful season ahead - the remembrance of our Saviour's birth.  Not that Santa's not cool, but the promise of an eternal life beats all.
