This is the mirror that I painted to "Dorothy Shoes Red". This was brought to my attention as I tried to pack it up and move it to the new house. I met resistance on all sides. Finally, Martin admitted to me that he never liked my mirror - not even when it was gold!
Stunned. He called it "Dorothy Shoes Red". Unbelievable. I ended up giving it to my friend Marlena. She has girls - four of them. They get it.
In my new dining room, there is an empty space above the buffet which needs a mirror. The deal I struck with Martin was that I would give it away if I could choose a new mirror to replace the old one.
I found this at Home Goods for 1/3 the cost. I'm not sure he has noticed it yet. He will in the morning when I ask him to hang it.
Can you believe it? Twelve point five years of marriage and I had no idea he didn't like the mirror. It has traveled everywhere with us. I bought it at a garage sale waaaaaaay before I ever met Martin. I'm still reeling. He just walked through and asked, "What's that? A little ray of sunshine?"
Somebody help me.
In my opinion, the red Dorothy Shoes mirror is fabulous!
