Summer is here and it is BUSY.
I feel like I can't run fast enough.
Last night at dinner I was getting things onto the table as fast as I could. Everyone was hungry. Dinner seems to be later and later because of camps and activities ending around dinner time, which pushes everything back.
I turned around to grab something and I heard the sounds of an explosion. Hayden and Henry were messing around and Hayden decided to shake his Original Olive Garden Salad Dressing (which they sell at Sam's Club now), but he did it with extra energy because he was trying to bug Henry somehow, and it seems that the last person to use it never tightened the lid. I mean there was oily salad dressing EVERYWHERE - walls, table, hair, face, floor.
That took a while to clean up.
Later the boys decided to go on a bike ride. It seems Henry's bike tire went flat and so Martin and Hayden took off without him. I went outside to do some work in the garden and Henry was telling me he couldn't believe they left him behind.
He thought his dad should have fixed the tire for him, but Martin told him he had the capability to do it himself, so he was left to work it out. He told me he did know what to do, but he really didn't want to do it. Anyhoo, I headed to the garden when I heard another explosion - a real one. It seems that Henry didn't take care to put the air needle in just right, so before he realized it, he had created a large bubble in the tire tubing - the one filled with green slime. It exploded and he was covered from head to toe with green goo. Once again, I cleaned the walls, the floor and the bike. I sent him in to clean himself up. I would have saved the clean up for him, but he had his mouth open during the explosion and got a big taste of slime. He needed to go spit and get his composure.
While I was cleaning up, my new neighbor came over to chat and her two dogs (big dogs) came with her. During our conversation, one of the dogs seemed to be having difficulty. He was darting around my front lawn and suddenly exploded all over one of my trees and then the bushes in my garden. My neighbor apologized saying that they just changed his food, so he was having a bit of diarrhea - "So sorry about the mess."
There must have been a full moon, or else I was due some bad karma. I'll let you decide.
